Easter Hemp Cross Buns

The perfect addition to Easter - homemade Hot Cross Buns! This yummy home baking is easy,  nutritious, and delicious!! It is so very therapeutic filling the house with the delicious aroma of classic hot cross buns. Adding our vegan certified Pure Hemp Protein and Kiwi Hemp Hearts, make these buns a yummy treat.

Ingredients

 4 tsp Sure bake yeast
 450 g White flour
 ½ tsp Sea/himalayan salt
 2 tbsp Milk powder
 6 tbsp Butter
 3 tbsp Brown sugar
 30 g Hemp protein powder
 30 g Hemp seed hearts
 1 tbsp Spray free orange rind
 3 tsp Allspice
 250 ml Water
 ¾ cup Sultanas

Directions

Method:

1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl or mixer
2. Divide the dough into 10 or 12 equal portions, roll each portion into a bowl and rest for 20 minutes
3. Shape into a smooth ball but gently rolling and placed on a baking tray
4. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place (30°C – 35°C) for about 30 minutes until they have doubled in size,
5. Put the crosses on the dough before baking:
6. Mix flour and oil together and add a little water time to form a squeezable paste
7. Place in a piping bag or use a plastic bag with the corner cut off,
8. Bake in a preheated oven on 200°c for 15 to 25 minutes until golden brown remove from oven
9. Mix sugar and hot water together and brush the buns with the glaze when they are still hot
