5 Healthy Smoothie Recipes for Summer

Smoothies are perfect if you struggle to eat enough fruit and vegetables in a day. They’re a great meal replacement and with the addition of hemp hearts or hemp protein will help to increase your fibre and protein intake plus improve gut health.

Be Smoothie Savvy​

Ingredients

  • Skin Lovin’ Smoothie
  • 1 cup cup almond milk (or milk of choice – try hemp milk!)
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 scoop collagen
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • ½ cup coconut cream
  • ¼ avocado  
  • 1 tsp maple syrup 
  • 2 softened dates
  • The Nutty Choc Shake
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 3 dates
  • 2 tbsp nut butter of choice
  • 1 tbsp cacao
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1.50 cups of your favourite plant milk
  • Orange Turmeric Blast
  • ½ cup frozen mango
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 thumb turmeric
  • ½ thumb ginger
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • Green Supreme
  • 1 sliced frozen banana
  • 1 large handful of spinach
  • 30 g Hemp Protein Powder
  • 1 green apple, chopped
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 cup water – adjust to desired consistency
  • Morning Groove
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup milk (your choice)
  • 1 date (pitted)
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • ¾ cup frozen mango
  • ½ lemon
  • ½ inch raw ginger root
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 Handful ice (optional)

Directions

  1. Use a good quality, high speed blender… that old dunger you’ve got kicking around the back of the cupboard probably won’t cut it with frozen fruit and veg
  2. For a thicker smoothie add more frozen fruit or ice
  3. For a thinner texture, add more liquid
  4. Include veggies into your smoothies. Veggies are lower in calories than fruit, so it’s wise to have a balance between the two. Start with greens like baby spinach, which has a mild taste that blends well with other flavours
  5. Add in Hemp Hearts or Hemp Protein for an awesome protein and omega boost to your smoothie
  6. Don’t skimp on protein... it helps to keep you feeling fuller for longer
  7. Be mindful of ingredients and portion sizes if you're watching your calorie intake
  8. Don’t overdo the sweeteners
  9. Don’t fall into a smoothie rut... try out some new combinations!!
